FEEL THE LOVE FOR MATH
Let’s face it – math doesn’t always get the love it deserves. Many students experience math anxiety which can lead to poor math performance and hence poor results. However, it is the one subject that will help you even after school is over. It’s also widely used in Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Astronomy and what not. The best thing about math is that, once you get the hang of it, it can be your most scoring subject.
Here at BrainLabs Academy, we love math and want the students to feel the same way. So, we put together some tips to tackle math like an expert and feel the love with math.
Practice as much as you can: math is a hands-on subject. The more you practice answering math problems, the better. Here, you can’t just learn chapters, you have to understand concepts and then keep practicing. The more you practice or solve problems, the better you can understand and grab it. Mathematics is all about formulas, identities and calculations. So, it is important to solve each problem of mathematics in numerous ways before your exams.
There is no escaping this reality, to do well in a math exam you need to have solved a LOT of mathematical problems beforehand because mathematics needs more and more practice.
Start simple:
Don’t start by solving complex problems. if you have just understood the chapter, solving hard sums will give you the wrong answer and discourage you even more. Instead start simple. Solve the examples in your textbook. See if all your steps are correct, not just the main answer. once you get all the steps right, you are ready to tackle the simpler problems in the exercise. once you have mastered those, you can move on to the difficult ones.
Clear all your doubts:
It’s easy to get stuck at a doubt in math. Don’t let your doubts build, get them cleared as soon as they occur. The sooner you get your doubts resolved, the sooner you get better at those topics.
Review your mistakes:
When you are solving the mathematics problems and made any kind of mistakes, then you should review those mistakes and understand where your problem-solving skills let you down.it will help you in future to avoid the same kind of errors.
Note down all formulae:
When you see something enough, it registers in your memory, even if its unconscious. This is why some students prefer to stick diagrams or formulae on their study table or in their room. Make flash cards of all the formulae in your textbook and decorate your room with them, at least until the exam is over.
Always know your basics:
Basics are everything in math. Most chapters in math build on previous ones. if your foundation isn’t as strong as you’d like, then keep practicing sums from previous years. don’t lose touch with the basics.
So, use these tips and see your weak subject turn into your strength! It’s time to love math, because that love is going to last forever
